Face up to the new normal, parts companies have more opportunities than challenges

2020-11-19 422

The biggest challenge facing the automotive industry in 2015 is to adapt to the new normal of economic development and find a new path for sustainable development under the new normal. However, how to adapt and how to achieve breakthroughs has become a key issue for the industry. Under such a background, various auto companies and parts companies have taken various measures to seek the most favorable development path under the new normal. However, for parts companies, it seems that there is a big difference from the situation faced by vehicle companies. Then, in this historical background, which is hailed as the best era and the worst era, how are parts companies facing? What kind of challenges will the opportunity meet? In response to this issue, the reporter interviewed the vice president of Honeywell Auto Parts Services (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. China at the 2015 China Automotive Industry Development (TEDA) International Forum just held. And the general manager Mr. Jin Chenhai.

Face the new normal, quality is more important than numbers

Speaking of the new normal, Mr. Jin said that the new normal is normal. Although China's auto industry experienced a period of rapid growth in 2010, nothing can always be at the highest point. Today, the auto industry has moved from an explosive period to a stable period, entering an intermediate link between low-speed growth and medium-high-speed growth. In this situation, the industry is more important to care about quality rather than numbers. It is necessary to see that the total number of cars in China last year has reached about 23 million, which is much higher than the United States, the European Union and other regions. China is already the largest car market. China’s current car ownership is increasing at a rate of over 15 million every year, which is a very large number, especially since we see that China’s per capita car ownership and per capita GDP are in a process of further development. Therefore, from the perspective of the global market, we are very confident in the medium and long-term development of China's automobile market.

Of course, compared with the past, China is now facing higher environmental pressures and needs a better environment. It is for this reason that we should put our pursuit on product quality and create more, lower fuel consumption and better power. The environmentally-friendly models of the company take the responsibility of the enterprise to further improve the degree of air pollution.

There are two sides to the development of anything. Honeywell has also seized this opportunity accordingly while taking responsibility. Driven by the pressure of environmental protection, we predict that starting from this year, the pressure increase ratio of the entire passenger car gasoline engine will be only 22%, and by 2020 it will be significantly increased to 44%. Such changes have further increased the market's demand for turbocharging, which is a great surprise for Honeywell.

Parts companies usher in greater opportunities under environmental pressure

Speaking of the problem of achieving the fuel consumption target set in the country in the future, Mr. Jin said that he mainly considers from three aspects. First, it is necessary to further optimize the entire transmission system from the use of conventional fuel technology such as turbocharging technology to reduce wheel friction. To optimize fuel consumption. Second, we now have technologies for new energy and hybrid power, including the dieselization of passenger cars and the use of diesel engines, which can help greatly reduce fuel consumption. Currently in Europe, one out of every two passenger cars has a diesel engine. China is still far below this level and has a great advantage in achieving fuel consumption standards by increasing the utilization rate of diesel engines. Therefore, the "Made in China 2025" proposed this year began to encourage the dieselization of passenger cars. and so

If the proportion of diesel and gasoline engines used in passenger cars can be further optimized, the achievement of fuel consumption targets is very promising.

In addition, the industry has already used a wide range of technology such as start-stop, supercharging, direct injection, etc., and the promotion of hybrid technology can further reduce fuel consumption.

As stated above. Focus and innovation are the key in the new competitive situation
